Horse Rescue

5/23/2018

Rescue 2 with 5 (Safety Ed) was dispatched to South Annville Township for a horse rescue. There was a horse down an embankment. Chief 2 (Ba Sell) and Assistant 2 (C Bardsley) went directly to the scene. Three members  from Lawn (3) were on the scene as well. Crews used the 100 foot winch, added 80 feet of chain, then got chain and ropes from the owners. The owners attached ropes to the legs and slid a pad and plywood under the horse. Crews were then able to pull the horse up the embankment. A veterinarian was on scene to sedate the horse. Crews were in service 1 hour and 15 minutes.
