This weekend crews attended Memorial Day Parades in Annville and Palmyra. While at the Palmyra parade crews ran into a few of our Jr. Firefighters, Klinger and Barnes, who are also in the Palmyra High School Marching Band.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our sister and friend Karin Knell. Karin was very active in the fire company, volunteering countless hours in the kitchen, always willing to help no matter what. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to work with her and know her. Rest easy Karin.
14:00 This afternoon crews from Campbelltown Fire Co. as well as Palmyra Fire Co. went to Lingle Elementary School for fire prevention. The crews showed the children the different parts of fire gear and what fire fighters look like when they wear all of their equipment. The crews also received a wonderful thank you note from the students.
18:00 Training this evening was to prepare the car for burn training. Per guidelines we needed to remove the gas tank, interior, brake pads and rotors, tires, and as much of the wiring as possible. We are ready to apply to burn. Hopefully this will be done in the next few weeks. When that was complete we reviewed the Man-In-Machine kit on Rescue 2.
Are you spring cleaning? Bring your usable unwanted items to the Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company Community Aid bin and help people that are less fortunate. Thank You!
19:00 Training this evening was practicing pulling 200 and 300 foot hand lines as well as practicing with different nozzle patterns.
