Tuesday October 31st is Trick or Treat Nite in South Londonderry Township. Be aware of all the ghosts and goblins. The Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company will be around town passing out candy and helping to keep children safe.
Engine 2 with 6 (Safety Ed) and Tanker 2 with 2 (Chief Sell) responded to assist Lawn (3) with a propane tank leaking. Crews set up a master stream on the tank to reduce vapors and sent a crew in to shut down the problem. Great job by everyone to diffuse a very serious problem.
Rescue 2 with 3 (Safety Ed) was dispatched to assist Company 3 (Lawn) with an overturned fertilizer hopper. The Rescue crew was on scene till the hopper was put back on it's wheels by the tow company
Rescue 2 with 4 (Safety Ed) responded to a 3 car accident with no injuries. The crew did basic vehicle ops and helped Fire Police Darkes with traffic control.
It’s never too early to get your tickets. See a firefighter or stop by the station to get yours. This year more guns, better guns, better food. Ticket stops will be announced in the near future.
Crews did a fire prevention program at Special Friends Daycare in the morning and Fire extinguisher training for the teachers in the afternoon. Children did Stop Drop and Roll, and we dressed a firefighter.
Between fire prevention programs, Rescue 2 with 4 (Chief Sell) responded to an accident with a pole sheared off. Crews did basic vehicle ops and returned about an hour later.
A crew took Rescue 2 to Paramount for Fire Prevention. The crew dressed a firefighter, taught Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Crawl low under smoke. The children then got to look at Rescue 2.
