Today crews from Lawn, W3 with 3, and Campbelltown, E2 with 4 (FF B.Douillette), and T2 (FF J. Valentin) responded to a car fire on the Turnpike. Crews were able to rapidly extinguish the blaze. Crews then did overhaul to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and would not rekindle.
This evening crews practiced water rescue training at the Palmyra Public Pool. Crews practiced throwing rescue ropes, throwing ropes in swift moving water, back-boarding patients in 6 and 12 feet of water, and reviewed their knot tying skills from the rope rescue class taken two weeks ago. It was a great night of training as well as some fun. A huge thank you to the Palmyra Public Pool for allowing us to use their facilities to train.
E2 responded to Palmyra with a crew of 5 for an odor of something burning. E2 staged and sent manpower to the scene. W1's crew found the source of the odor, a burnt microwave and brought it outside. E2 crew then assisted with clean up and were placed back in service.
This evening crews from Campbelltown, Lawn, and Palmyra fire departments came together for a joint training exercise. A big thank you to Bryce Ressler from Ressler Propane for going over with our crews the different aspects of the propane tanks.
