At 11:13 Engine 2 with 5 (Safety Ed) responded to assist Station 1 for a reported structure fire. Crews went to manpower and then did a 360 . Nothing found and Engine 2 returned.
Training this evening was Search and Rescue at the acquired structure. We used the smoke machine to smoke up the structure and sent crews in to find a stuffed animal "victim". We ran 3 scenarios. Great training and THANKS to the Mt Gretna Craft Brewery for letting us use the structures.
15:05 Today crews from Lawn, W3 with 3, and Campbelltown, E2 with 4 (FF B.Douillette), and T2 (FF J. Valentin) responded to a car fire on the Turnpike. Crews were able to rapidly extinguish the blaze. Crews then did overhaul to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and would not rekindle.
13:44 On the afternoon of the 18th crews responded to a two vehicle accident accident on Forge and Hinkle. One vehicle rolled multiple times and Chief 2 used the hydraulic tools to force open the door.
9:21 Today R2 (Chief 2 Ba.Sell) with 3 responded to a two car accident on Hinkle and Old Farm Rd. Crews popped the passenger side door of one vehicle, and bent back the fender of the other. There were no injuries.
19:00 This evening crews practiced water rescue training at the Palmyra Public Pool. Crews practiced throwing rescue ropes, throwing ropes in swift moving water, back-boarding patients in 6 and 12 feet of water, and reviewed their knot tying skills from the rope rescue class taken two weeks ago. It was a great night of training as well as some fun. A huge thank you to the Palmyra Public Pool for allowing us to use their facilities to train.
19:25 Tonight E2 (Safety Officer Houser) with 6 and Chief 2 Ba. Sell responded to Fencepost Ln and investigated at three different houses after a lightning stike blew out the power. Two houses checked out okay and one house had a partial power loss.
11:21 E2 responded to Palmyra with a crew of 5 for an odor of something burning. E2 staged and sent manpower to the scene. W1's crew found the source of the odor, a burnt microwave and brought it outside. E2 crew then assisted with clean up and were placed back in service.
18:30 This evening crews from Campbelltown, Lawn, and Palmyra fire departments came together for a joint training exercise. A big thank you to Bryce Ressler from Ressler Propane for going over with our crews the different aspects of the propane tanks.
