With Trick or Treat Night being on a Monday CVFC will be out in the community with our fire trucks making sure the children are safe, stop by and meet your local firefighters.
18:00 Tonight crew completed their re-certification for EVOC, emergency vehicle operations course. The rest of the crew did equipment maintenance.
15:47 Crews arrived on scene to a working barn fire, Asst. Chief Br. Sell took command. Crew worked to extinguish the blaze quickly and safely. Crews from Lebanon stations 2, 1, 3, 38, and 6, Dauphin stations 46, 47, 48, 39, and 59, and Lancaster stations, 27, 70, and 71, all assisted on the call. An excavator was called in to insure that there would not be a rekindle of the fire and a few kittens were found within the remaining structure.
13:59 Crews arrived on scene and preformed basic vehicle operations. Crews remained on scene until it was cleaned up and then were placed back in service.
Training this evening was at the Mt Gretna Craft Brewery acquired structure with Mt Gretna (38). Crews did search and rescue in a smoke filled environment and advancing hose lines. We had 4 different crews run several scenarios.
Sunday October 9th through Saturday October 15th is Fire Prevention Week. Change your smoke detector batteries and replace the smoke detectors if they are more than 10 years old. Practice your family escape plan and meeting location. Discuss fire prevention with your family. During an emergency is not the time to make your plans.
It is with sadness the Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company announces the passing of Past Fire Chief, Paul Seiple. Paul served in various positions in the fire company, including Fire Chief in 2020, 2020 - 2020, and 2020. God's Speed and Rest Easy Chief. We'll take it from here.
