Structure Fire Essex Dr

2/11/2017

Station 2 was dispatched to a reported structure fire, smoke in the basement. Engine 2 with 6 (Chief Sell) arrived to find a smoke condition. Engine 2 hit the hydrant in front of the structure and the crew pulled the 300 ft. 1 3/4 hand line. Tanker 2 and Rescue 2 staged with manpower forward. Truck 1 set up in front of the structure and sent manpower forward. It was found that rags used for staining were in the wood stove and had smoldered and spontaneous combusted. Crews vented the basement and returned. There was no damage.
